Which teeth straightening treatments are available at Dunstable Dental Practice?

At Dunstable Dental Practice we use two types of clear braces which are so discreet, most people will not realise that you’re even having your teeth straightened.

Invisalign

Invisalign is made up of a series of custom-made clear aligners which sit over the top of your teeth. They are removable braces, and you take them out to eat, drink and to brush your teeth.

When you choose to have your teeth straightened with Invisalign, your teeth will be scanned using the revolutionary iTero scanner.

This produces digital 3D images to show how your teeth look now and how they will move and change until the finished result with straight teeth at the end of treatment. It means, you get to see how your new straight teeth look before you even start treatment!

You wear your Invisalign aligners for a prescribed amount of time – usually one week before you move on to the next set of aligners in the series. Each set has a tiny difference from the previous, allowing for the small movement in your teeth as they are straightened.

Finish wearing your aligners until you reach the final set in the series and your teeth have reached their final destination.

SureSmile

SureSmile is a similar form of teeth straightening to Invisalign. They also use a series of clear aligners which are worn and changed on a regular basis until your teeth reach their ultimate position.

When you get your teeth straightened with SureSmile, you’ll also receive the SureSmile VPro. This small device is inserted into your mouth every day and produces small vibrations which ensure that your aligners are fitting tightly against your teeth.

    FAQ's for Teeth Straightening

    Can I just get my top set of teeth straightened?

    Yes, you can. At your consultation, your dentist will assess your teeth and talk with you about what you would like to achieve with your smile. If you only want to straighten your top teeth, your treatment will consist of aligners just for your top jaw.

    Can I get my teeth straightened on the NHS?

    No, teeth straightening for adults is not available on the NHS because it is a cosmetic dental treatment and so you must pay to have them straightened privately. At Dunstable Dental Practice we offer 0% finance for up to 12 months, which helps make affordable teeth straightening.

    Is it too late for me to get my teeth straightened?

    This can only be answered by you, but we believe that it is never too late to invest in a beautiful smile. More adults are realising that just like your hair and skin, teeth can greatly affect your appearance. Since the introduction of invisible braces, we have seen more patients in their forties and fifties having their teeth straightened.
